Top cottage ‘musts’ for relaxing…

Hi everyone, how was your bank holiday weekend? I hope you’ve had lots of fun and relaxed enough? I spent the last 11 days working hard with The Dogs Trust to organise their annual fun day event. The event is their biggest of the year across all centres to raise vital funds for the dogs welfare and care. I was supposed to be in today but had to take it off after the doctor told me I had hurt my back too badly!

So… today I’m in the cottage on the sofa with sacroiliitis and unable to physically move! sacroiliitis is inflammation of joints and in my case the lower back, legs and ankles.

Since I am sofa / bed ridden today I can’t go outside so thought it high time I brought the outside in and lit one of my cosy new candles to relax with Netflix and tea! I always find a good candle and cup of tea can be the best medicine for one since they are perfect for relaxing the mind, soul and reenergising.

My musts for relaxing in the cottage

Home County Candles… I absolutely adore candles, room scenes and all sorts as you know, so for me having a candle in my lounge named after (and created for) Oxfordshire made perfect sense to try!

County Candles Co Oxfordshire candle is delicately scented with Green Tea and Bergamot, a delicate and fresh scent that fills my lounge with a relaxing and outdoors feel reminding me of tea trips into the city with my lovely friends.

I am so in love with these cosy candles, I’ve got one in my lounge, library (our study), bedroom and bathroom. A scent for every feeling! In the bedroom we’ve got the Cotswolds, a fresh linen scent which relaxed me last night when I was in a lot of pain with my back. I’m unsure if I would have actually got to sleep without it, so most definitely have suggested one for my friends, family and you!

They are a wonderful addition to the home as you can bring all the beauty and feeling of your county into the home with fresh cosy and warm scents that for me relax and have given me a healthier mind.

No cottage is complete without a little box of candles and if you’re going to be investing in one I recommend these beauties that are hand made with love in Hertfordshire.

Speak soon,

Lucy x

  1. I saw them at a Hertfordshire County Show this weekend and got one! Saw your Instagram post on them before I went which was cool.

    Thanks.
